Symbolic Groundbreaking
On Wednesday, 20 February 2019 Member of the Board of the Nordrhein-Westfalen Foundation, Professor Karl-Heinz Erdmann, met
with Jürgen Rausch and der Chairman of the "Friends of the Historic Kiosk" association, attorney Peter Storsberg to mark the
symbolic beginning of underground construction work at the new venue for the Kiosk across from the entrance to the UN at
Heussallee. Financing of the difficult sub-surface building measures was assured thanks to a commitment of financial assistance by
the Nordrhein-Westfalen Foundation of more than 55,000 Euro and the December 2018 decision of Bonn's Town Council.
Who would have imagined back then that it would take nearly another year before the actual construction could start?
